Microblading is an artistic tattoo technique in which a manual, non-machine handheld tool made of several fine needles aligned to form a single blade is used to carefully add semi permanent pigment into the skin, replicating natural looking hair strokes. Unlike traditional tattooing, a microblading artist hand draws each individual hair to match the color and coarseness of your eyebrows. This gives a hyper realistic look, it’s undetectable leaving you with stunning, natural results.

● Diabetes (Doctor’s note required)
● Directly after a strong chemical peel and /or botox treatments

● Makeup, pigment, and/or topical anesthetic allergies
● Pregnant or Nursing (no exceptions)
● Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation that is easily triggered
● Skin diseases such as psoriasis, shingles, or eczema on the procedure area
● Under 18 years of age

Yes, in most cases microblading does a great job at hiding scarring. To ensure you are a candidate for microblading, we will need to review the scar beforehand.

Yes, it sure does! Microblading works great on all skin colors. If you have oily skin, large pores, or keloid scarring around the area we do not recommend microblading. For a complete list of contraindications, please contact us.

No. It is semi-permanent, lasting on average 1-2.5 years. Client results will vary from person to person. Retention of the pigment is out of our control, as it is determined by the clients skin type (oily skin will fade faster, lasting on average 6 months), how well they follow after-care guidelines, lifestyle, as well as their immune system, therefore no guarantee can be made as to how long results will last. We do recommend that you get your initial touch up within 6-8 weeks after your first treatment session to perfect your brows. After that, annual touch ups for color boost are recommended.

We use a topical anesthetic to numb the area so the vast majority of our clients report very little to no discomfort at all.

Please be aware that if your brows are more than 60% faded, it will be considered a full treatment, not a touch-up!  The timing that I need to complete this is much longer than your typical touch-up timing!

 

BROW TOUCH-UP FROM OUTSIDE PROVIDER 

Clients who have received microblading treatment from an outside provider other than Optima Revision will need to schedule a complimentary consultation with us to examine their brows, determine pigment retention, amount of work needed, and the exact cost.

The average appointment time is 3.5 hours from start to finish. Most of the time is spent consulting with the client first and determining their goals and expectations, selecting the colors, numbing the skin and drawing/mapping the eyebrow shape

Before your Microblading treatment at Optima Revision , we encourage our clients to look for their ideal eyebrows on social media and the Internet. Eyebrows are not a one-size-fits-all, so it’s important for us to understand what it is that you would like for your desired result. 

Save any pictures you find and show us at your appointment. Our expert artists will work with you to customize your brows for the look you want while also using the PhiBrows “golden ratio” when mapping out your eyebrow shape to maximize the ideal facial proportions for you. 

1 MONTH BEFORE : No Botox or fillers, chemical peels or facials. 

1 WEEK BEFORE: Do not tan or have a sunburn, avoid plucking, waxing, tinting, electrolysis, threading or any hair removal services, do not use retinols/retin-A or other anti-aging/acne creams around the eyebrow area and do not apply any chemicals on or around the eyebrows. 

48 HOURS prior to your session do not take any aspirin, ibuprofen, niacin, vitamin E, fish oils (omega-3) or CoQ10.

Day 1: 

Right after the procedure the pigment will appear darker in color with possibly slight redness immediately after the procedure.

This is normal and will subside within 24 hours. 

Day 2 – 7: 

The pigment color will appear darker as brows start to heal and will lightly scab over. Do not pick at the scabs as it will remove the pigment. 

Day 8 – 14: 

Brows should have healed externally and finished flaking, leaving you with a much lighter color. This is NORMAL, so please do not panic. 

Day 20 – 30: 

The implanted pigment will begin to resurface as your brows heal internally. This will bring back more color to your brows allowing us to see the final result of the initial treatment session. 

Day 30 – 60: 

During this time, your follow up session should take place to perfect your brows. Additional touch-up sessions may be required to achieve your desired look. 

Never rub or scratch the treated area as it will disturb the skin from naturally healing. 

Once completely healed (after 30 days) always apply a SPF 30 to SPF 50 on your eyebrows when exposed to the sun. Sun exposure might cause the color of the pigment to fade away more quickly.

The best results generally come from a two-step treatment. Touch-ups allow us to view how the color is regenerating and add in areas that may not have healed as well as we would like to see. Touch-ups are beneficial for color restoration, shape correction, and any fine tuning the client may desire. Your initial touch-up is typically needed between 6-8 weeks and every 1-2 years or yearly for best maintenance.

The decision to come in with bare brows, no makeup, is entirely up to you. You can choose to come in with brow makeup or without.
We will be taking before/after photos for our records and with your written consent we may use some photos for social media/advertisement. Either way, we will clean off your brow area before your procedure begins.

It is not required for you to wax, thread, or shape your brows prior to your Microblading appointment. The more hair you have, the better we can see your natural hair flow. After we shape your new brows, we will clean up the eyebrow hair outside of the new shape. We will do the clean up for you!

Unfortunately the answer is no! If you desire a natural, no makeup look with hair strokes, then you will need to have no previous work done on your brows. Your ombré/powder brows need first to be removed or at least be 80% lighter and only then we can proceed with the microblading procedure.
